Melissa is a veteran math teacher with almost a decade of experience in education. She has a degree in Mathematics from Gonzaga University, Teaching Certificate in Secondary Mathematics, and a Masters in Educational Leadership also from Gonzaga. She has taught courses from Algebra 1 up through Calculus 1 in the Seattle area. She is passionate about supporting all learning styles and focusing on the “why” behind the math instead of just memorizing the “how”. Melissa has teaching and tutoring experience with students who have learning disabilities, those are identified as gifted, and students where English is not their first language. She strongly believes that more often than not, students struggle with math because they don’t believe they are are “math person”, and that this is a lie! All people can learn math, and the first step in that process is developing self-confidence and math-confidence. Melissa looks forward to supporting you and your students on their learning journey in the wonderful world of mathematics.
